Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS) have brought laurels to the institution by showcasing an outstanding performance at the Zonal Level Athletics Competition, held from 23rd to 25th September 2025 at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Bathinda.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) organizes annual Zonal Level Sports Tournaments across the state with the key objective of encouraging physical development, promoting team spirit, and identifying budding sports talent among school students. Annual Sports Meet Session 2023-24

BFSSS for the session 2023-24, the Annual Sports Meet of the school, was held on December 13, 2023 under the guidance of Ms Geeta Arora, Head of Activities and Yatinder Kumar, Lect. in Physical education. On this occasion welcomed by Sh. B.D. Sharma sir, Deputy Director, Activities and S Harpal Singh , Deputy Director, Facility. The Chief Guest of this meet was S. Iqbal Singh, Deputy DEO, Bathinda and Rajveer Singh Aulakh, District Guidance Counselor, Bathinda. The event began with the ceremonial March-Past by all the four Houses. The torch was lit by students who had excelled in various national and State championships in sports events during the academic session. The athletes pledged to compete with a sense of sportsmanship.

The Meet was marked by various team and individual events with athletes vying for top honour in fierce competitiveness and the spirit of true sportsmanship. The Best Athletes among Boys and Girls included Jasmaan Singh (+2 Arts )

Gurkirat Singh (+1Arts), Karanveer Kaur (+1NM ), Armandeep Kaur (+2 Commerce) respectively.

S. Iqbal Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated the faculty and students for their persistent and untiring efforts that made the achievements in sports possible at various levels. He stressed that the lessons learnt in the playing field become the building blocks of success in life. He motivated the students to excel in their field of choice and bring laurels to the institution and the country.

The Chief Guest, S. Iqbal Singh gave away the prizes to the winners of the Athletic Meet. The sporting show concluded with the rendition of National Anthem.

Ever since its establishment, sports have been an essential and integral part of life at the Institute. The school has made earnest efforts to promote sports along with education. Special diet, hostel facilities, special coaching classes to cover loss of studies are arranged which help the students to groom their sports interests and gain national & international applause.
