Visit to the Old Age Home, Bathinda
NSS Unit of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean (Activities), and with the dedicated efforts of the NSS Coordinator, organised a compassionate and meaningful visit to the Old Age Home, Bathinda.
The primary aim of this visit was to instill moral values, develop a sense of social responsibility, and spread warmth and care among the elderly residents. During the visit, the students interacted with the senior citizens, listened to their life experiences, and engaged in various recreational activities. The entire interaction created an environment filled with joy, respect and emotional bonding. Both the residents and students expressed immense happiness after spending quality time together.
Dr. Baljinder Singh, Principal, BFSSS, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit and encouraged the students to continue participating in such socially meaningful initiatives. He emphasized that these activities help students understand real-life situations and develop empathy towards different sections of society.
The Hon’ble Chairman Sir and Director Sir also lauded this noble effort, highlighting that such visits are essential for making the younger generation aware of the challenges faced by elders in society. They stressed the importance of cultivating compassion, responsibility, and community service among students.

Annual Athletic Meet - BFSSS (2025-26)
The Sports Club of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School successfully organized a grand Annual Athletic Meet on 14-11-2025 with the support of the Sports Department, BFGI. The event showcased a vibrant array of competitions aimed at promoting physical fitness, competitive spirit and the holistic development of students.
The event commenced with immense enthusiasm as Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Poonia, Campus Director, inaugurated the meet with the ceremonial flag hoisting and balloon release, setting an inspiring tone for an action-packed day. The occasion was graced by the Principals, Centralized Heads and the Heads & Staff of BFSSS, whose esteemed presence added significance and encouragement to the event.
Students participated wholeheartedly in a wide range of track and field events, including:
• Races: 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m
• Field Events: Shot Put, Discus Throw, Long Jump, Javelin Throw
• Recreational Activities: Three-Leg Race, Lemon Spoon Race, Tug of War
The BFGI campus vibrated with applause and excitement as athletes delivered remarkable performances, demonstrating discipline, determination and teamwork. The recreational events brought added joy and ensured high engagement among both participants and spectators.
The Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, S. Rupinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Bathinda, whose presence added great honor to the occasion. He congratulated the young athletes for their outstanding performances and exemplary sportsmanship. The Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries, felicitated the winners with medals and certificates, making it a proud and memorable moment for all present. The recognition of Mr. Mandeep Singh as Best Athlete (Boys) and Ms. Harveer Kaur and Ms. Gursimran Kaur as Best Athletes (Girls), along with Red House securing both the Overall Trophy and the March Past Trophy and Green House achieving the Runner-Up Trophy, truly marked the highlight of the ceremony.
Principal Dr. Baljinder Singh expressed profound appreciation for the dedication, coordination and teamwork demonstrated by the Heads, staff and students of BFSSS. Hon’ble Chairman, Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal and Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Poonia also applauded the initiative taken by BFSSS and Sports Department of BFGI, emphasizing that such activities are essential for students’ overall development. BFGI X KAIROS - MUN 1.0 (6th, 7th November 2025)
The campus of Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) came alive with diplomacy, intellect and youthful enthusiasm as Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS) proudly hosted MUN 1.0 (Model United Nations) on 6th and 7th November 2025, in collaboration with KAIROS Learning.
Creating history, BFSSS became the first Punjab School Education Board (PSEB)-affiliated school to organize a Model United Nations conference – a unique platform designed to foster students’ confidence, leadership and global awareness through simulated international committee sessions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young delegates who impressed everyone with their diplomacy, critical thinking and communication skills.
The Opening Ceremony on 6th November was graced by Ms. Yogita Bajaj, Head of the English Finishing School, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, a soulful Shabad and captivating cultural performances. An inspiring inaugural address by Mr. Kabir Sethi (Owner and Program Head, KAIROS Learning) set the tone for two intellectually stimulating days of debate, discussion and diplomacy.
Committee sessions were held with great zeal, promoting collaboration and meaningful dialogue among the delegates. The day concluded with a lively DJ celebration, adding joy and camaraderie to the intellectually charged atmosphere.
The Closing Ceremony on 7th November opened with a vibrant Gidha performance, setting an energetic tone. Mr. Chirag Kundra, Chief Advisor and Mr. Kabir Sethi expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional coordination and warm hospitality extended by BFGI. During the felicitation ceremony, Executive Board Members and Best Delegates were honored with mementos, medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
The ceremonies were graced by Principals, Deans, HODs and other distinguished dignitaries from various colleges and schools. With its remarkable execution and overwhelming success, MUN 1.0 set a new benchmark in academic excellence and experiential learning, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic education.
Prof. (Dr.) M.P. Diwali Fest(2025)
Cultural Club of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS) organized a vibrant Diwali Fest today under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean (Activities), with the support of Ms. Veerpal Kaur, Cultural Club Coordinator.
The fest included a variety of creative competitions such as Rangoli Making, Card Making, and Best Out of Waste, which allowed students to display their artistic talent and creativity while celebrating the joyous festival of Diwali.
Students participated with great enthusiasm, spreading colors of joy and cultural spirit throughout the campus. Dr. Baljinder Singh, Principal of BFSSS, appreciated the efforts of the Cultural Club for organizing such meaningful events that nurture creativity and teamwork among students.
The Hon’ble Chairman Sir and Director Sir also praised these initiatives, emphasizing that such celebrations help students stay connected with their rich cultural traditions and enjoy festivals with happiness and togetherness.

Self Defence Workshop for Girl Students
NSS Unit of Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, Bathinda, organised a Self Defence Workshop for girl students under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora Associate Dean , Activities. The resource person for the session was Ms. Himani Bagga, Soft Skill Trainer, Baba Farid School of Business Studies.
The workshop aimed to empower young girls with essential self-defence techniques to build confidence and enhance their personal safety in challenging situations. During the session, Ms. Himani Bagga demonstrated practical moves and shared valuable safety tips that can help girls protect themselves in everyday life.
The girl students enthusiastically participated and expressed that such training sessions not only make them feel stronger and more confident but also promote awareness about self-protection and resilience.
Dr. Baljinder Singh, Principal, BFSSS, appreciated the initiative and addressed the students, highlighting the importance of self-defence skills as a crucial life skill in today’s world. He encouraged the students to continue practising these techniques for their overall safety and empowerment.

Baba Farid Sen. Sec. School, Bathinda organized a Mehndi Competition on the occasion of Karva Chauth. The event was conducted by the Cultural Club under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean (Activities), with the support of Ms. Veerpal Kaur, Coordinator, Cultural Club.

workshop on “Experiential STEM Learning – Learning By Doing”
A workshop on “Experiential STEM Learning – Learning By Doing” was successfully organized at Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Bathinda with the support and guidance of Campus Director, Dr. M. P. Poonia Sir.
The resource person for the workshop was Er. Pankaj Godara, Program Coordinator at IIT Gandhinagar’s Innovative Creative Lab, along with his team member Mr. Ganesh Sicyag. They were also felicitated as Guests of Honour as a token of love and respect from BFSSS.
The session was inaugurated with a warm welcome by Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean Activities. During the workshop, the experts conducted a variety of practical demonstrations, making the teaching–learning process highly engaging and interactive. The participating teachers actively learned innovative methods to make science and mathematics more experiential and enjoyable.
Faculty members from various colleges of BFGI (BFCA, BFCET, BFCOS and BCOA) also participated enthusiastically and benefitted from the interactive sessions.
The workshop concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Respected Principal Dr. Baljinder Singh Sir, who appreciated the efforts of the resource persons and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in today’s education system.

Moral Education Examination - 22nd August, 2025
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, in collaboration with the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, successfully organized a Moral Education Examination today i.e.22nd August,2025 at the school campus. The initiative aimed at instilling ethical values and cultural awareness among students.
A total of 350 students enthusiastically participated in the exam, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of moral values, Sikh history, and the teachings of Guru Sahibans. The exam was conducted in a peaceful and disciplined environment, reflecting the dedication of both the organizing committee and the student participants.
The school management extended heartfelt thanks to the team from Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle for their support and guidance in conducting this meaningful event. They also appreciated the students for their active participation and encouraged them to continue learning about moral and spiritual principles in their everyday lives.

Rakhi with warriors - 2025
It is submitted to your good self that under the inspiring guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean, Activities, the students of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS) celebrated the festival of Rakhi with the warriors of our nation at Air Force Station, Bhisiana. This noble initiative was made possible with the valuable support of Mr. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Security Officer, BFGI.
Upon reaching the station, the students were warmly welcomed by Wing Commander Madam Shaweta Pandey, who extended heartfelt greetings and appreciated their thoughtful presence. Wing Commander Vipanjeet Kaur Sandhu also joined in welcoming the students and commended BFSSS for its meaningful and patriotic efforts.
Marking its third consecutive year, this celebration reflects the school’s strong commitment to honoring the spirit, sacrifice, and service of our Armed Forces. The students enthusiastically tied rakhis to the brave officers and extended heartfelt prayers for their safety and long life.The event aimed to instill a sense of patriotism, gratitude, and emotional bonding among students with those who selflessly guard our nation.
Rakhi, a festival that celebrates the sacred bond between a sister and her brother, was meaningfully extended beyond families—to the heroes who protect every household. The act of tying a rakhi symbolizes respect, protection, and blessings, and serves as a powerful reminder of our moral duty to support and pray for our soldiers.

One day Educatiional Trips
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS) successfully organized educational one-day trips for students of various academic streams on 26th July 2025, under the able guidance of the Academic Heads with the help of our faculty. This initiative was designed to promote experiential learning beyond the classroom and to strengthen students’ connection with cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage.
Students were divided into two groups according to their respective streams:
Arts and Commerce Stream:
Students embarked on a cultural and historical tour to Sadda Pind, Amritsar, where they experienced the essence of traditional Punjabi village life. The itinerary also included visits to Sri Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) and Jallianwala Bagh, offering deep insights into India’s spiritual legacy and the sacrifices of the freedom struggle.
Science Stream:
Students visited Chamkaur Sahib, exploring historically and religiously significant sites such as Dastan-E-Shahadat, Chanda Burj, Haveli of Todar Mal, 22G Haveli, and Handiya Outlet. These places, associated with the sacrifices made during the era of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, helped students gain a deeper understanding of Sikh history, values, and martyrdom.
These thoughtfully curated trips reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to holistic development, aiming to bridge classroom education with real-world experiences. The students participated enthusiastically and found the trips to be both enriching and memorable.
Pollution Control Board's campaign in celebration of World Environment Day 2025 - 5th June
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean of Activities, organized a drawing competition in collaboration with the Punjab Pollution Control Board, Bathinda. The event focused on the themes ‘Ending Plastic Pollution Globally’ and ‘Promotion of Alternatives to Single-Use Plastics (SUPs)’.
This initiative marked the beginning of the Pollution Control Board’s campaign in celebration of World Environment Day 2025, which will be observed on 5th June. As part of their awareness campaign, the Board is conducting various activities to educate society on environmental conservation and sustainable alternatives to plastic use.
Sh. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director Activities, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests from the Pollution Control Board: Er. Sahil Goyal (AEE), Er. Supinder Mishra (JEE), and Mr. Abhishek Gaba (CDEO). The event was conducted smoothly with all competition materials provided by the department.
These awareness activities aim to educate students—our future nation builders—on the dangers of plastic pollution and the importance of sustainable living. By involving students, the Pollution Control Board hopes to spread the message of environmental responsibility across society.

Visit at Beed Talab 2025
on the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, the Agrarian Club of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School organized an educational visit to Beed Talab, under the guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean of Activities, and coordinated by Ms. Jashanpreet Kaur.
This visit was aimed at raising awareness among students about the importance of biodiversity and its role in sustaining ecosystems. Observing nature firsthand allowed students to understand the value of conserving species, protecting habitats, and ensuring sustainable interactions with the environment.
The theme of Biodiversity Day emphasizes the need to protect biological diversity, promote sustainable use of natural resources, and ensure equitable sharing of benefits from genetic materials. Beed Talab, being a natural habitat rich in flora and fauna, provided an ideal setting to connect classroom learning with real-world ecological awareness.

Celebrated World Red Cross Day - May 8, 2025
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School celebrated World Red Cross Day on May 8, 2025, with great enthusiasm and community spirit. The event was held under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean of Activities, with the valuable support of Mr. Simarpal Singh, Scout and Guide Coordinator, and Mr. Jaskarn Singh, NSS Coordinator.All NSS volunteers and Scouts actively participated in the program, contributing to its success and purpose.
During the event, Sh. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director of Activities at BFGI, addressed the students and staff. He shared insightful thoughts on the significance of World Red Cross Day, the aims and humanitarian values of the Red Cross Society, and the core principles it stands for—humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
As part of the celebration, the school organized a rally themed “Say No to Drugs”, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

Baba Farid Senior Secondary School successfully organized a one-day educational visit to Talwandi Sabo under the able guidance of Mr. Simerpal Singh, Scout and Guide Coordinator, and Mr. Jaskarn Singh, NSS Coordinator. The visit included active participation from Scouts and NSS volunteers of the school.

The occasion of World Earth Day the ECO Club of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School (BFSSS), under the able guidance of Ms. Geeta Arora, Associate Dean of Activities, and Ms. Amandeep Kaur, Coordinator of the ECO Club, organized an inspiring Poster Making Competition. Expert Lecture on Hazards of China Dor
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School Bathinda, successfully organized an expert lecture on the “Hazards of China Dor” by SDO Er. Sahil Goyal from the Punjab Pollution Control Board. The session aimed to educate students about the dangers associated with China Dor (synthetic kite string) and the legal consequences for those involved in its buying and selling.
During the lecture, Er. Sahil Goyal provided valuable insights into the environmental and health hazards posed by China Dor. He also highlighted the strict legal actions and penalties imposed on those violating the ban. The session proved to be highly informative and engaging for the students.
On the same day, NSS volunteers and Scouts of BFSSS also organized an awareness rally at Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) to extend the outreach of this crucial message. The rally aimed to educate a larger student population about the harmful effects of China Dor and encourage them to take responsible actions to protect the environment and public safety.

NSS Day Celebration 2024
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Bathinda – NSS Day was celebrated by the NSS Department on 24-9-2024 under the leadership of Principal Dr. Baljinder Singh Sidhu at Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Muktsar Road, Bathinda as per the instructions of Honorable Deputy Director Youth Services Department. Meanwhile, the associate dean of the school, Activity Madam Geeta Arora told the students about the importance of NSS and how to create social consciousness among the volunteers in a large number of schools, colleges and universities in the country under this scheme. Along with giving life guidance, the spirit of the spirit of service to the country is being created. Apart from this, information was also given about the relationship of Ramraj run by Mahatma Gandhi with NSS. Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Bathinda celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a distinctive way. Students of the school tied rakhis on the wrists of saviours of the nation at Air Force Station, Bhisiana.
Warriors were very happy and showed their affection to students and gave token of love to students. it was a very proud moment for each and every person who was present there.

BFSSS organised a Card Making Competition on the account of Janmashtami in this competition, students from all the streams have participated with enthusiasm & showcase their talent.

BFSSS organised Teej Festival for all girls students in Main Seminar Hall , BFGI. Under this event four competitions (Teej queen contest Lami Hek geet,Mehndi and hair style competition) were organised. In this competition, students from all the streams have participated with enthusiasm & showcase their talent.
Poster Making Competition of World Population Day
It is submitted to your good self that on the 27th of June, 2024 Baba Farid Sen. Sec. School organized a one day trip to the water park for its students, providing them with a much-needed break from their academic routine. The trip was a resounding success, with students enjoying a day filled with thrill, excitement, and adventure.
The trip was meticulously planned and executed by the school staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. The water park offered a range of attractions, including water slides, wave pools, and splash pads, which the students enjoyed thoroughly.

It is submitted to your good self that on the 27th of June, 2024 Baba Farid Sen. Sec. School organized a one day trip to the water park for its students, providing them with a much-needed break from their academic routine. The trip was a resounding success, with students enjoying a day filled with thrill, excitement, and adventure.

BFSSS organized a Speech Competition for +1 & +2 Students on the account of “World Earth Day” on 22nd of April, 2024 on the theme of Planet Vs Plastic.
World Earth Day holds significant importance for both students and the community as a whole. For students, it’s an opportunity to learn about environmental issues, develop eco-friendly habits, and understand their role in preserving the planet for future generations. It also encourages them to become environmentally conscious citizens who are aware of the impact of their actions on the environment. For the community, World Earth Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to protect and conserve our planet. It fosters a sense of unity in working towards sustainable solutions and inspires individuals to take action, whether it’s through community clean-up efforts, advocating for environmental policies, or implementing eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

World First Aid Day (9th September, 2023)
BFSSS organized a training program for NSS volunteers on World First Aid Day on dated 9th September 2023 under the guidance of Geeta Arora, HOD, Cocurricular activities with the help of Karamjeet Singh (NSS, Coordinator). Sh. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director Activities and S. Harpal Singh, Deputy Director, Facility inaugurated the training program. Mr. Naresh Pathania, Master Trainer, Red Cross Bathinda addressed that the skill on first aid is very essential for the students. In this training session focus was on the basics of first aid, and how to provide first aid in wounds, bleeding, poisoning, bites, fainting, snake biting and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.World First Aid Day is the perfect incentive for you to learn new or refresh existing first aid skills. It’s also a chance to ensure you will be equipped with a first aid kit for your home, vehicle, workplace or community space. At the end, Mr. Naresh Pathania and NSS volunteers administered the Oath taking Ceremony. They pledged to stay safe and also render help to others in dire situation. It is a reminder that, first aid awareness is not just for a day. it means to learn first aid skill for the whole life so that you can be prepared in any situation. BFSSS organized an Inter Stream Notice Board Decoration Competition under the supervision of Geeta Arora, HOD, Cocurricular activities in the account of ‘Teacher’s Day’ on September 5th, 2023.
The competition was a fusion of talent, imagination and creative. The students of all streams were at their best. Each of the departments depicted the features of best teacher. They used vibrant colours to add life to the presentations. The zeal of the students was evident and they left everyone awe-struck as they presented their talent so immaculately and effortlessly. They were applauded by the Principal Dr. Baljinder Singh Sidhu for their superb performance.
Rakhi Making Competition and celebrations with warriors (29th August, 2023)
Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Bathinda under the supervision of Geeta Arora, Head of Activities celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a distinctive way. Students of the school tied rakhis on the wrists of saviours of the nation at Air Force Station, Bhisiana.
A song “Teri mitti mein mil java” was presented by a choir on the occasion and students showed their love through beautiful performances such as songs and dance.
Earlier, Gp. Capt. Saurav Datta Gupta and his unit members interacted with the team of BFSSS students at the venue.
Warriors were very happy and showed their affection to students and gave token of love to students. it was a very proud moment for each and every person who was present there.

Educational Tour to Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra
Commerce club of BFSSS organized educational tour to Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra from 22/11/2019 to 23/11/2019. In this tour students went for site seeing at Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra. At Delhi students went for Trade fair, India gate and Akshar dham temple. In Delhi Trade fair students learn about culture and markets of different countries. At Fatehpur Sikri students saw Buland Darwaza which was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar and at Agra students visited Taj mahal, an immense mausoleum of white Marble, built by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife. In this tour students enhance their knowledge and enjoyed alot.

Arts/Science Club of BFSSS organized educational tour to Jaipur from 10/11/2019 to 12/11/2019. In this tour students went for site seeing at Jantar-Mantar, Albert Hall, Hawa- Mahal, Jal mahal, Amber fort and bapu market. Students came to know about the history of these places and learnt various new things. Students enjoyed D.j night and sangeet mehfil. They saw various historical places and enhanced their knowledge.
Five days Guides Camp
BFSSS has organized five days guides camp of 40 girl students to Tara Devi, Shimla .In which State Training Commissioner of Scout and guide Sh. Darshan Singh and State commissioner Sh. Onkar Singh guided the students about the benefits of this camp and organized several activities related to national services and patriotism. Trekking activity was also organized on mountains so that students may learn to face struggle in better way in their future. In this camp students were informed about the benefits of this camp in various government departments and in foreign countries.
Food Making without Fire Competition
BFSSS organized ‘Food making without fire competition ‘under the guidance of Ms.Mandeep Kaur, Hod Commerce. In this competition more than 140 students from all streams participated with full zeal and energy and cook various food items and prepare beverages and all without using fire in just one hour. All the Judges and guests were amazed to see the enthusiasm of students and ideas used by participants to prepare various desserts and savoury items. International day of girl child (11th October, 2019)
BFSSS celebrated International day of girl child on 11th October, 2019. To celebrate this day Speech competition was organised only for girl students in which 35 girls from all the streams participated with full enthusiasm and zeal. The topics of speech were Women empowerment, Domestic violence against women, How has a women’s role in society changed as compared to yesteryears and Status of women in India. The aim of celebrating this day was solely dedicated to aware the girls about their importance in society and amplify their voice and stand up for their rights. Moreover the motive was to highlight and address the needs and challenges that girls could faced in the foreseeable future and tackle all the challenges on their own with bravery.
